DIY Date Night // Sexy Sweater + Box Pleat Skirt
I'm so glad to be back to sewing for myself! I needed a quick win for date night and whipped up a box pleat skirt with pockets from my tutorial.
I envisioned a sexy navy sweater for this look and had begun draping. But time got away from me and I didn't have time to finish it for when I wanted to wear it.
I'd originally posted my Vogue 9111 sweater about a year ago. And this sweater popped in my head! I'd since lost a little weight since making it, so it was even more oversized than the original fit.
So, I knotted the sweater and let it sit off my shoulders naturally. It was very similar to the look I was going for and it saved me some time. WIN!
The fabric of the sweater has since sold out, but I used a navy sweater knit which you should be able to find just about anywhere during this time of the year.
Can we talk about this skirt though? I used my fabric from Ankara and Lace, which I blogged about here. I really like this fabric, but I LOVED it when it became this skirt!
My bag is from Love, Cortnie and my shoes are my favorite clearance finds from DSW that I've told you about a million times.

I have a HUGE closet purge coming up because it's just time. I've actually already started pulling things here and there. But, that just means that I will making more conscious decisions on what I buy and what I make.
My fall/winter sewing list is already full, so I can't wait to share that with you!
