Today's post features the fabulous Jenese of Needles and Fashion! She's an amazing sewer who really takes sewing to another level by designing her own pieces and customizing patterns to make her looks true to her personal style!
Hello loves! My name is Jenese of the sewing blog Needles and Fashion. Eryn has graciously let me crash her blog for the day to share my DIY day to night look.
I have never done a day to night look and really don't know why I have never thought of it until now (thanks to Eryn). Being able to transition from day to night when you have an event, or just hanging with friends saves time and the hassle of pulling an entire look together.
My look came from three pieces. The coat is Sewaholic's Robson Coat without sleeves (here). I used navy wool coating from Fabric Mart that was on sale. You can find similar fabric (here). Although I try not to follow trends too often, this is one I absolutely love and plan to make more of.
The skirt is a self drafted pencil skirt with pockets and a back zipper. I created the skirt out of 2oz Lambskin from my FAVORITE leather source the Leather Guy in MN (here). Words cannot express how much I adore this company. Each and every leather piece I have created has leather from the leather guy!
For my day look, I paired the outfit with a necklace from Saks fifth avenue (old) and a pair of Saks Fifth Avenue Collection navy pumps.
For my night look, I added a fox fur collar I purchased for a future project (pinned to the collar) and changed out my shoes for a nude Brian Atwood platform pumps (
Eryn shared her day-to-night DIY over on my blog, so come on over to
to see her fabulous look!!!
Happy sewing, MUAH!
