Hey Ya'll! *insert southern drawl and big country wave*

Today's DIY is another top-turned-dress like the DIY I posted last week. Today's joint is courtesy of Simplicity 1198, View E.

This was another top I saw as a dress. Actually, I plan on sewing a couple of other views at some point and making them into dresses.

Simplicity 1198My fabric is a stretch viscose jersey from Mood Fabrics I purchase a little while back. It cuts and sews wonderfully. I had no problems with this fabric whatsoever.

If you haven't experienced a fabric containing viscose, you're missing out. I've seen them in knit and polyester blends popping up everywhere in fabric stores and ready-to-wear clothing. This Dianne von Furstenburg I posted is a polyester/viscose blend.

Simplicity 1198I decided to lengthen the dress in the front and back at the waist to keep the drape concentrated at the bottom of the dress. I pictured this dress being breezy and versatile in that it's long enough for me to wear to my 9-5 and chic enough for me to strut about town on the weekends.

The pattern is only 4 pieces and very easy to work with. It's definitely a must-sew!
